Fourth Annual Top Technician Competition Held at Taylor Power Systems

Last week Taylor Power Systems, in conjunction with Taylor Sudden Service, held its 2022 Top Technician Competition at the headquarters in Clinton, MS. This was the fourth year that the competition has been conducted and each year the competitiveness and excitement has increased.

This year’s competition brought together six talented generator technicians from several Taylor Sudden Service offices throughout the southeast and placed each technician in various troubleshooting scenarios on an assortment of Taylor Power and vendor products. This included the technician diagnosing and rectifying issues on assorted generator engines, transfer switches, and controls.

The competition was close throughout, coming down to three of the most skilled SSI technicians – Josh Heller, Ron Ducote and Danny Patterson. The experience of these three in the top tech competition made the outcome even more dramatic, as Josh Heller and Ron Ducote are former winners, while Danny has finished runner-up and third place in previous showings. However, in the end only one of these three technicians would be triumphant and claim the title of 2022 Top Service Technician.

Congratulations to 2022 Top Technician winner, Josh Heller. Josh is a service technician at the Bossier City, LA office. This was Josh’s third time competing in the Top Tech Competition and second win. Furthermore, hats off to 2nd place finisher Danny Patterson, from the Richland, MS office, and Ron Ducote of the Gonzales, LA office for finishing 3rd.

Each technician that participated tackled the competition head-on and we are proud of their effort and willingness to learn. We also want to say thank you to our vendor partners and judges. Without their support and time, this competition is not possible.
